Last week IJP was delighted to see its film Bringing the Outside In, developed for the Southside Partnership win the Best of Health Awards 2010 at the Annual NHS Health & Social Care Awards.

Designed to reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues experienced by black minority ethnic groups and stimulate discussion, the DVD used humour to address key barriers and misconceptions and improve education around NHS services.

The film won the Best of Health Awards 2010 in Mental Health and Well Being for the NHS South East Coast, and is now a finalist for the National NHS Best of Health Awards 2010. The awards celebrate the innovative and inspirational achievements of teams and individuals across Kent, Surrey and Sussex, with last week's event forming the South East Coast regional heat for the national Health and Social Care Awards.
