Less than 12 months after the implementation of IJP’s Sustainability Strategy, this week IJP won a Highly Commended award for the Best in Third Sector category at the Mayor of London’s Green Procurement Code Awards Mayor of London’s Green Procurement Code Awards

Designed to showcase the achievements of businesses across the capital in making their procurement process more sustainable, the awards recognise outstanding achievement from a wide variety of organisations across all sectors.

Since implementing the strategy in 2009 IJP has developed it’s very own salad garden, used for lunches and snacks in the office and reducing the waste produced through purchasing pre-packaged salads and sandwiches. Led by Ann Summerhayes, a keen gardener in the IJP team, the garden has inspired a sense of team spirit and shared purpose.

Supporting local business and in line with IJP’s social purpose, garden supplies and materials were purchased from the Camden Garden Centre, which also offers employment, training and educational opportunities in the local borough.
